Show the whole piece and the details
Take a photograph of the furniture in full, then closer images of damage, joints, edges and the current finish. Natural light usually makes colour and surface wear easier to see. Include the underside or a maker’s label if it is accessible.
Describe the result you want
Do you want to keep the existing colour, refresh a dull surface, repair a loose joint or consider a different finish? Reference images can help explain the appearance you have in mind.
Include practical details
For large furniture, mention access, stairs, parking and any preferred dates. For an office, include the number of pieces and working-hour restrictions. The final scope and timing can then be discussed after inspection.
